THE PRODUCER
This coffee is sourced from the Sasini Estate in Kenya, where careful cultivation and sustainable practices ensure high-quality beans. The farm benefits from favourable growing conditions, allowing the SL28 and SL34 varietals to develop their characteristic flavours and complexity.
THE COFFEE
Kenya Sasini is a washed coffee that delivers bright, clean flavours with a delightful sweetness. The cup is bursting with juicy stone fruit, blueberry-like acidity, and a rich fudge-like finish. Smooth and well-rounded, this coffee is perfect for filter brewing or as a refined single-origin espresso.
THE REGION - KAMUNDU FARM, SASINI ESTATE
Sasini Estate is located in the Kiambu area around Mount Kenya in central Kenya. Its high altitude, abundant sunshine, and pleasant climate provide favourable conditions for growing coffee. The soil is acidic red volcanic soil with good drainage, offering nutrients that support healthy coffee trees. This region produces coffees with a bright, full flavour and a silky, smooth texture that reflect Kenya’s heritage and dedication to quality.
THE PROCESS
After harvest, the cherries are washed to highlight clarity and sweetness. Careful fermentation and drying ensure that the beans develop clean flavours and maintain the integrity of the SL28 and SL34 varietals, resulting in a balanced and expressive cup.
